For over a decade, the concept of shifting internal support processes to countries with a competitive cost structure has proven its case. However, the increasing digitization and automation potential of transactional activities causes Shared Service Centers (SSC) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners to fear for their eligibility in the market. To be able to dispel these doubts, SSCs and outsourcing providers need to step up and seize the opportunity to become the strategic partner of the retained organization in activities which go beyond standard support processes.
